About Ryan

Ryan MacMichael is a freelance writer whose work has appeared in over a dozen publications since the early 1990s. Much of his focus has been in the realm of music criticism where he's written for online publications such as The Online Digital Music Review (later Hi-Tech Home and Speaking Tree), The Daily Mix, HardC.O.R.E. (later HeadzUP), Roots World/Hollow Ear, Reggae Source, and Suite101.com as well as having made contributions to the Muze database. He's also written for print publications including Reggae Report, Metro Connection (DC), The Downlow (UK), and The Mary Washington College Bullet.

More recently, MacMichael has focused on animal rights and vegetarianism. He's been a frequent contributor at Herbivore Magazine and wrote the foreword for Isa Chandra Moskowitz's Vegan With a Vengeance (Marlowe and Company, 2005).

MacMichael has also penned several technical articles for IEEE IT Professional.
